Education is very important to everyone worldwide and
without education the world would be a sad and boring place
to live. That is because education catalyzes deep thinking
and provides the skills necessary for inventions,
technology, and all of the things that the world enjoys in
this century. However, there are many types of degrees
available and some provide more benefits to the student than
others. The typical degrees include high school degrees,
community college degrees, university degrees, masters
degrees, and doctorate degrees.
High school degrees are achieved by the majority of
Americans and the rate of dropouts is significantly lower
now than it once was. In todays society few jobs are
available to individuals without a high school degree, and
there is not an overabundance of jobs for individuals
holding only a high school degree.
Next is the two year community college degree. These degrees
are very affordable and completed in a short period of time.
Generally, community college degrees are trade degrees like
cosmetology, dental hygiene, mechanic, transcriptionist,
truck driver, and the like. Many individuals with a two year
degree end up continuing their studies as well at the
university level.
Next comes masters degrees, which require the student to
study an additional two years in a specific curriculum.
Students can obtain masters degrees in a wide variety of
subjects with the MBA being one of the more popular masters
degrees.
Finally, is the doctoral degree. This requires even more
years of studying as well as clinical. Medical doctors,
pharmacists, and university professors receive their
doctorates in order to be an expert in their field and end
up with high paying jobs.
And finally is the doctoral degree. This is the highest
degree an individual can achieve and it requires a great
deal of studying and commitment. Generally those studying
for their doctorates are in school for up to 10 years
straight. Because of this not many people are willing to
make the sacrifice to study for so long despite the payoff
when the degree is earned. Degrees are important for
students to achieve not only because they provide the
opportunity for a good job but also because they provide the
student with knowledge and a good education. If you are
considering pursuing further studies, you should definitely
do so.
